How To Increase Sales

As an experienced internet marketer, a question I get asked above all else is how to increase sales.

This is invariably bracketed with the question of how to increase website traffic. I generally respond with the old homily: "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" and the way to increase sales and the bottom line is to maximize the value you get from your existing hard-won website traffic.

The chief method comes with a solid gold pedigree from none other than John Reese, one of the internet's most respected marketers. John is renowned for thoroughly testing an idea before he releases it to the wider world, so when he says that you can increase sales with webvideo, you know it's really true. He took an existing, strongly performing, sales page and put a video in place of much of the text. This enabled him to boost sales by as much as three times. 

Personally, I have been able to increase sales almost fourfold with web video, having gotten a 7.66% response for a $40 sale to first time visitors. Normal conversion rates for a text only sales page for first time visitors would be about a quarter of that -- just 2%.

But I've found that video is marketing viagra for squeeze pages (as you can see below) as well as exit pop-ups. Also using video testimonials works far better at providing the essential "social proof" that clinches sales far more effectively than a mere text and picture testimonial.
