Web video has now come of age, with the announcement by respected internet marketer and traffic expert John Reese that "Web video is here to stay and will become a must-have for websites".

He speaks from personal experience, because he is one of the most notable internet marketing experts -- Mike Filsaime is another -- to use the almost hypnotic power of webvideo to increase sales.

By substituting a long sales page for a shorter sales page and a web site video John Reese managed to increase sales from an already strongly performing sales page by a factor of three. This was no fluke as he also increased the sales of other websites by the addition of web video.

In addition, many marketers report they have been able to increase website traffic by putting short videos on the many free video hosting sites, such as YouTube.

So just what is it that makes web video so compelling?

Ever heard the expression "impulse purchase"? That's because most purchases are made on impulse and with emotion. And it's a scientific fact our brains -- particularly the emotional part -- reacts to pictures, particularly moving pictures.
